I knew Chow Fan-fu way back in the 1980s when we were all fighting to get a voice in what was then called the Council of Performing Arts which has now morphed into the Hong Kong Arts Development Council.

 

Chow Fun-fu was always a gentle and knowledgeable voice. I turned to him whenever I needed any advice on music which I could not find anywhere else.

 

He was like a well-loved and well-thumbed dictionary to me and like many others in Hong Kong I shall miss him on the radio, TV, live shows and most of all as a friend to whom one always loved to meet and chat.

 

We shall all miss him dearly.

Dr Vicki Ooi is the Artistic Director at AFTEC and she is a renowned drama educator and pioneering director in introducing western plays to students in Hong Kong. She founded the Hong Kong chapter of the International Association of Theatre Critics, under UNESCO in 1992 and established Shakespeare4All® Ltd in 2003 where she was Artistic Director until 2014.
